This is the story of a man named michaelHe lives with his family in the UK. One day after his parents were fired from their factory they decided to buy a boat and go on on trip to the ocean
during the trip, there's a storm and michael, with his dog is thrown out of the boat. fortunately he survived and find refuge in an island close to the accident site.
In that island he descovers a man named kensuké who's been living there for 43 years. They are going to became friend ane kensuke will teach michael how to live in the wildlife. In exchance michael have to teach kensuké how to speak english
One day michael spot a ship and try to send a signal to them. Kensuké warn him that it could be bandits but that doesn't stop michael. they hade and the boat leave. After that they see michael's parent's boat and kensuké decide to help. Michael is finally found but kensuké prefer not to go and stay on his island. Years later michael publish a book to talk about his story and recieve a letter from kensuké's son inviting him to japan.
